Barn. Mid-to late C18 with minor later alterations. Uncoursed limestone rubble;
stone slate roofs, formerly thatched to lower range (cowhouse). Barn has gabled
cart entrance with full-height plank double doors beneath wood lintel and 9
tiers of pigeon nesting holes and ledges to red brick gable. Opposing entrance
to rear. Lower gabled range projecting to right of cart entrance has plank door
with small window to left on ground floor and plank door above; casement to far
right of main range. Square air vents. Cowhouse, attached and slightly
projecting to right, has plank door to front and infilled openings to gable end.
Interior. Main range has double-purlin collar and tie beam roof in 4 bays and
lower range has double-purlin roof in 3 bays with principal rafters rising from
wall tops and slightly cambered tie beams below lower sets of purlins. Inserted
lofts to outer bays.
