4 to 9m S of S porch of Church
of St. Matthew

Group of 4 chest tombs. Late C17 and mid-C18. Limestone. C17 tomb to north has
projecting capping; otherwise largely obscured at time of resurvey (July 1987).
Two C18 tombs to south have projecting capping and stepped tops; recessed corner
balusters. Inscriptions illegible, southern tomb with carved decoration to
sides. North tomb has carved head of winged angel to top on north side and
similar head without wings to north side of south tomb. Large C18 tomb to south
has stepped moulded plinth and capping with egg and dart top. Illegible
inscription panels with rococo carving to north side and ends, and one with egg
and dart moulding to south.
