Row of cottages, now disused,. Early to mid-C19 with minor later alterations.
Regularly coursed marlstone rubble with alternating angle quoins and ashlar
dressings; shallow-pitched slate roof. Symmetrical terrace with plain pedimented
cross wings. Tudor style. 2 storeys. 1:5:1 bays, outer bays forming slightly
projecting cross-wings; 2-light mullion windows with dripstones directly below
eaves and blind rectangular opening to centre on first floor. Ground floor has
similar 3-light windows to cross-wings and to outer bays of centre range; all
mullions have leaded casements, some latticed. Central Tudor-arched alleyway
with boarded doors to either side. Stone ridge stacks to left and right of
centre range, left rebuilt in C20. Boarded doors in chamfered surrounds with
dripstones to returns. Interior. Only partial inspection possible at time of
resurvey (August 1987). Chamfered cross beams and joists, cast-iron grates to
fireplaces, plank doors and C19 staircases.
