GV II

Pair of cottages. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed limestone
rubble; artificial stone slate roof, hipped to south-east end. 2 storeys and attic,
North-east side has 2 early C20 fixed-light windows to right of C20 flat-roofed extension
(not of special architectural), left in position of infilled doorway with another blocked
doorway immediately to right. Late C20 casement to left and early C20 casements to
centre and right on first floor, all directly below eaves. 2 gabled dormers in roof
slope. Part-rendered ridge stack in 2 sections to left of centre and external lateral
stack with purple brick shaft to rear on left. Interior: Sunnybank (north-west cottage)
only inspected. Chamfered ceiling beams to ground and first-floor rooms. Inglenook
fireplace with chamfered wood lintel. Stud partition wall on first floor and double
butt-purlin roof with collar trusses visible in attic. C20 extension at right-angles
to rear on right of Sunnybank is not of special architectural interest.
