GV II

House, now divided. Mid-to late C17 restored c.1939 by Clough Williams Ellis for
Mrs. Anthony Gillson of Cornwell Manor (q.v.). Roughly coursed limestone rubble;
stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic. 4 chamfered leaded-mullion windows with
dripstones on each floor, all of 3 lights except one of 4 to right and one of 2
to left of left doorway. This and doorway to right both have chamfered 4-centred
arches, C20 plank doors with glazed panels to top and C20 bracketed flat stone
hoods. Prominent sloping buttresses to right of second doorway from left and
right doorway by Clough Williams Ellis as are 2 hip-roofed leaded dormers in
roof slope to left and tapering rubblestone integral end stacks and ridge stack
to left. Chamfered 3-light mullion window with dripstone to right gable end on
ground floor and chamfered rectangular window to right on first floor. Interior.
Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (September 1987) but said to have
been substantially altered by Clough Williams Ellis.
