KINGHAM WEST STREET
SP2424-2524 (South-east side)
15/162 The Laurels

GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Late C17 with late C19 and late C20 additions and
alterations. Roughly coursed limestone and marlstone rubble; concrete tile roofs
with coped verges. 2 storeys and attic. Chamfered 3-light mullion window with
dripstone on each floor to left and right of central entrance. C20 half-glazed
door under C20 flat-roofed stone porch with moulded entablature, probably made
up from earlier materials. Late C19 timber framed and roughcast gabled dormers
directly above mullion windows in roof slope. Integral ashlar end stacks with
moulded capping; also to slightly lower C19 range to left which has contemporary
gabled projection to front, having 3-light mullion window with dripstone on each
floor. Interior. Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (August 1987) but
likely to be of interest. Late C20 gabled projection to rear is not of special
architectural interest.
