House. Early C18 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed and
banded limestone and marlstone rubble with alternating angle quoins; stone slate
roof with coped verges. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic. 3-window front; C18
leaded casements with chamfered wood lintels and stepped ogee stops to first
floor and with wedged voussoirs to ground floor. Central C20 half-glazed door
also with wedged voussoirs. Integral ashlar end stacks with moulded dripstones
and capping. Small paired lancet window, said to have been brought from Kingham
Manor House, demolished in 1920's to right gable end attic. 2-storey lean-to to
rear on left with late C20 flat-roofed extension (not of special architectural
interest) attached and C19 single-storey gabled range at right-angles to rear on
right. Interior. Central cross passage. Right ground-floor room has 2 chamfered
cross beams with run-out stops. Inglenook fireplace with chamfered wood lintel
and position of oak winder staircase (surviving from first floor to attic)
visible to right. Left room has plastered spine beam, cornice and wood dado
rail. Chamfered ceiling beams on first floor and collar truss roof in 3 bays
with double butt-purlins to attic.
