1/13 Walcot Farmhouse
II

Manor house. C16, C17 with later alterations. Coursed squared rubble with
irregular stone slate roof and chimneys finished in brick. Left part reputedly
the service wing of a larger house now demolished. 2 storeys and attic; irregular
fenestration. 2 large gables to front and rear. Door to right of left part has
one glazed panel and a projecting open pediment on consoles. 16-pane sash windows
on ground floor and on first floor of right wing. Other windows have casements
with leaded lights, all under timber lintels. One blocked first-floor window.
Catslide roof over outshut to left. Illegible datestone on right gable. Interior
has fireplace with Tudor-arched lintel on ground floor to right; stop chamfered
spine beams on ground floor; and exposed purlins and principal rafters in roof.
