Large house. C18 facade to C17 core with extensive C18 and C19 extensions
to rear. Coursed squared rubble with ashlar dressings; slate roof to
front range, stone slates at rear. Main part has 2 storeys, attic and
cellar, 3-window range, symmetrical. Half-glazed door with 2 raised and
fielded panels under a flat stone hood on consoles. Bulls-eye window to
left. Ground and first-floor windows have sashes with glazing bars in
stone roll-moulded architraves with keyblocks. C20 gabled dormers have
casements with glazing bars. Ashlar quoins. 2 gable-end chimneys to front
range. Left part has L-shaped wing to rear including a former barn with
C19 Gothic-style tracery in sash windows. Similar sashes to rear of 2-
span right range. Interior has barrel vaulted cellar with a blocked
stone mullioned window. Other features include panelled doors and cut
string stair with 3 balusters to each tread. Large ground-floor fireplace
to left has segmental stone arch. Some stopped and chamfered spine beams.
Butt purlin roof.
