Ostensibly a nondescript range. No. 6 roughcast to earlier timber frame
exposed in gabled end with brick nogging. No. 5 faced with sham timber
framing and plaster. Two storeys; modern doors and casement windows; early
C19 ditto to No 6; part rebuilt with modern brick at rear. Actually the
building is timber-framed throughout incorporating about three crucks
placed parallel, with one exposed in gabled end of no. 5. The building
is probably C15 and certainly the oldest timber-framed building in the
town. A notable priest, Sir William Corvehill, lived here in the early
C16. Formerly known as St Owen's Well House.
