Churchyard Cross about 5m south-east of the chancel of the Church of St. Giles

Cross. Medieval, probably C14 or C15. Sandstone. Shaft and socket
stone. The shaft is approximately 4m high, very weathered and badly
split down the middle; at the top it broadens out for the cross head;
the square socket stone is plain with chamfered corners. The cross head,
which is said to have had a Crucifixion on one side and 2 saints on the
other, was removed in late C19 as it had become unsafe; its present
whereabouts is unknown. It is also traditionally said that the cross
once stood in the road. Cranage, Vol.111 p.174.
