Headstone to Anna Ward
- about 4m south of the
Church of St. Chad

Headstone. Anna, wife of Thomas Ward, died 1767. Sandstone. Moulded,
curved head with the crudely carved face of a winged angel and intertwined
leaf decoration above the inscription, the bottom part of which reads:
"Afflictions Sore Long time I bore/ Physicians were in vain/ Till God
was pleased to give me ease/ And freed me from my pain."
