House, now divided into shop and restaurant. Mid-C18 re-modelling of
earlier building. Red brick, slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, dentilled
eaves cornice; 3 bays, mid-C19 segmental-headed casements to first floor
with 3 gabled eaves dormers; late C19 shop fronts with segmental-headed
doorway to passageway on left; prominent reddish brown brick ridge
stack (top re-built) to left of centre. Lower red brick and rubblestone
range (probably concealing timber frame) at right-angles to rear on
right has tall stack at junction with main range, also with top re-built.
Line of former steep-pitched roof visible to right gable end of main
range. Interior: inspection not possible at time of re-survey (August
1985) but noted as having chamfered ceiling beams to main ground-floor
rooms on right; partly infilled inglenook fireplace with chamfered wooden
lintel beneath back stack.
