No. 1, Grange Cottage

House, latterly inn, now 2 cottages. Mid-C17 with later additions and
alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill and additions; slate
roof with internal red brick end stacks. One storey and attic; apparently
of 2 or 3 framed bays. Framing: square panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate
with long straight tension braces. C20 casements to left and right, of
3 and 4 lights respectively, and to timber framed gabled half-dormers, of
2 lights to left and of 4 lights to right. 2 boarded doors (glazed to
top) under lean-to slate hoods. 2 parallel painted brick additions at
right-angles to rear. Interior. Not inspected but likely to be of
interest. Formerly known as Nos. 1 and 2, Grange Cottages.
