Barn. Late C17 with later alterations. Timber framed with short weatherboarded
infill on rubblestone and sandstone block plinth; corrugated iron roof.
Wide threshing entrance in second bay from left and doorway in left bay.
Interior: framing visible; square panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate with
long curving tension braces; weatherboarded partitions with long straight
tension braces. Single-purlin roof in 4 bays with one queen-post and 4
queen-strut trusses; straight windbraces and V-struts from collars to gable
ends. Barn is attached to end of wall to left of Manor Farmhouse (q.v.).
A well-preserved motte (Scheduled Ancient Monument County No. 157) lies
immediately to west.
