Farmhouse, now house. Early C17, largely rebuilt mid-C18 with later
additions and alterations. Painted brick largely replacing timber
frame; graded slate roof with crow-stepping to right gable end. Basic
L-plan with later C18 two-storey outshut to left of rear range and
C19 lean-to adjoining. 2 storeys and attic. C19 casements to either
side of prominent C19 gabled porch with plain door and toothed cornice
carried up around gable, those to ground floor segmental-headed
and those to first floor directly below eaves. Flat-roofed dormer
in middle of roof slope to left. Prominent external end stack to
left partly concealing tie beam with carved decoration; lean-to to
bottom probably houses bread oven. Integral end stacks to right and
to rear range. Interior. Ground-floor front rooms have deep-chamfered
spine beams. Timber framed spine wall (square panels) to first floor
of main range. Ladder staircase from first floor to attic, which has
double-purlin roof in 2 bays with central collar and tie beam truss
and straight windbraces. C20 red brick addition to rear of rear range
is not of special architectural interest.
