Squatter's cottage, now disused. Late C18 or early C19 with minor
later alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill on high
painted brick plinth continued to left gable end; graded slate roof.
One-room plan. Framing: rectangular panels to front with long straight
tension brace and light horizontal members; 2 square panels to rear.
Right gable end has projecting single-purlin ends and thin raking struts
from tie beam to principal rafters. Segmental-headed boarded door
to right and segmental-headed C19 casement to left. C19 casement directly
below eaves to centre. Integral end stack to left. Light timber framed
lean-to with plank door to front attached to right gable end is probably
contemporary with cottage. Interior. Inspection not possible at time
of resurvey (October 1986) but noted as having fireplace with chamfered
wooden lintel and C19 cast-iron cooking range. Straight-flight staircase
