Farmhouse. Probably late C17 or early C18 with later additions and
alterations. Painted brick on rubblestone plinth; slate roof. L-
plan comprising hall range to left and gabled cross-wing to right.
C19 full-length outshut to rear of main range. 2 storeys to main range
and 2 storeys and gable-lit attic to cross-wing. Dentilled eaves cornice
to main range and toothed bands to first floor and attic of gable, carried
round to right return. Two early C20 casements on each floor to main
range, those to first floor directly below eaves and one to ground and
first floors of gable, latter with infilled segmental head. Late C20
casement to attic of gable. Entrance to main range through ledged
and grooved door under lean-to brick porch in angle with cross-wing.
Yellow brick ridge stack directly above forming baffle entry. Vertical
timber posts visible to rear above outshut. Interior. Ground-floor
room of cross-wing has twin chamfered spine beams and heavy joists.
Deep-chamfered spine beam with stepped stops to right ground-floor room
of main range. Winder staircase to first floor in main range and another
from first floor to attic in cross-wing. This has collar and tie beam
roof trusses. Early C20 brick lean-to to rear of cross-wing is not
of special architectural interest.
