LLANYBLODWEL C.P., B.4396 (north side),
Stable block approx. 15m south of Huntsman's Lodge

Huntsman's Lodge is shown on O.S. map as Kennel Cottage.
Stable block. Circa 1800 with minor later alterations. Uncoursed
limestone rubble with red brick facade; double-span slate hipped roof, graded
to rear section. Two levels with dentilled eaves cornice carried across
slightly projecting central pediment. 2:1:2 bays. Eaves hatches to
left and right sections, that to far left taking form of roundel. Ground
floor has cambered vehicle arches to far left and right, former with C19
double doors; segmental-headed stable doors directly below inner eaves
hatches, left with flanking centre-hung casements and right with C19 casement
to left. Centre section has central C20 half-glazed door with C19 segmental
head flanked by segmental-headed windows. Similar window directly below
eaves cornice and roundel to pediment. Window with Gothic Y-tracery
to rear left corner on first floor. Interior. Inspection not possible
at time of resurvey (November 1986) but said to retain original loose hexes and stable
partitions. Formerly the stable block to Glan-yr-afon Hall (q.v.).
Huntsman's Lodge is not included in this list.
