Farmhouse. C.1600, extended and re-modelled c.1700 with later additions and
alterations. Rubblestone walls probably concealing timber frame, random slate
roofs and integral end stacks with red brick shafts. Probably originally
of 3 framed bays, extended by a lower rubblestone portion to the west (see
the straight joint between the 2 sections). 2 storeys; 3 C19 casements irregularly
spaced, 2 to main range and one to lower portion on each floor; 2 entrances,
the lower under C19 gabled porch. Interior. Cross wall to right of main entrance
with rectangular panelling (c.1600), Inglenook fireplace to left with massive
beam above; stop chamfered parallel beams and heavy unchamfered joists to
the original part, flagstone floors; on the first floor the bay divisions
are exposed, showing that the roof has been raised and formerly had windbraces.
