SO 3288 BISHOP'S CASTLE C.P. HIGH STREET (west side)

House, latterly shop, now office. Circa 1600, underbuilt, refaced
and eaves raised circa 1800, and late-C19 additions. Rendered timber
frame with slate roof. 2 framed bays. 3 storeys. Brick ridge stack
to right. Evidence of former jettied first and second floors,(see
slight projection above first floor windows), and remains of moulded
bracket to right of shop front. 2-window front; glazing bar sashes;
delicate late-C19 cast iron shop front with 2-part plate glass windows
flanking central recessed half-glazed door with rectangular overlight.
No. 31 formerly extended one further bay to right (c.f. Nos. 33 and 35,
High Street g.v.).
