Pair of houses, No. 13 with a pair of shop fronts. Early- to mid-C19.
Painted brick, hipped asbestos slate roof. 3 storeys, 3 windows, glazing
bar sashes with flat arches. Ground floor to left-hand chamfered. Pair
of mid-C19 shop windows with panelled pilasters and reveals, and a
flat hood on scroll brackets. Doorway to No. 15 to right, similar
pattern. 2-window return with basement contained in steep slope. 6-
panelled door with panelled reveals, panelled pilasters, and marginally
glazed overlight, approached by 6 steps. Steep alleyway to return with
variety of cobbling techniques forms picturesque grouping with The
House on Crutches (q.v.). Included for group value.
