Farmhouse. Mid to late C17. Red brick (English and English garden wall
bonds) with mid C19 slate roof. U-plan with projecting central stair-
case wing to rear. Basement, 2 storeys and attic. Plinth, plat bands,
wall plate and joists ends exposed below eaves, central gabled dormer
with 2-light casement, and large external end stacks with twin square
shafts, that to left reducing in width with plain tile pentice roof,
extended to front. 1:3:1 bay rhythm with projecting gabled wings.
C19 wooden cross windows with recessed segmental tympana, blind in
centre on first floor; 2-light attic casements in wings, and some
inserted C20 casements in basement. Large C20 flight of concrete
steps to central boarded door with mid C19 doorcase consisting of panelled
pilasters and bracketed triangular pedimented hood; boarded basement
doors, to left and in right-hand return front. Rear: C20 flat-toppped
eaves dormer to left; central projecting gabled staircase wing with
plat bands and C19 wooden cross windows. Interior: dog-leg staircase
with closed string; turned balusters, moulded handrail and square
newel post; chamfered and stopped beams; boarded doors; pump and
