- and former stable block
adjoining to north-west


Farmhouse and adjoining former stable block. C17, rebuilt and roof
raised in C18, with mid to late C19 addition to left and stable block to
right. Timber framed, largely rebuilt and extended with coursed limestone
rubble, eaves raised with re-used timbers and rendered infil panels,
whole latterly rendered but now removed, and partially weatherboarded
timber frame to first floor of stable block; slate roofs. Framing:
vertical studding with tension braces. 2 cell lobby-entrance type house
with later addition to east and stable block to north-west forming
L-plan. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic to right, and basement,
2 storeys and gable-lit attic to left. Large rendered ridge stack above
door off-centre to right and integral brick end stack to left. Irregular
2 window front with C19 wooden casements, 2-light to left, and 3-light
with transom to right. Boarded door beneath stack in angle to right,
and boarded door with gabled porch between first and second windows
from left. South front: 3-window front with C19 two and 3-light wooden
casements, some with transoms; C20 French casements to left, and boarded
door between first and second windows from left. C19 one storey lean-to
at gable end to west. Stable block: 1½ storeys. Left-hand return-front:
first floor C20 semi-dormer to left and boarded loft door to right;
2 ground floor C20 casements flanking 2-leaf boarded door to left, and
2-leaf boarded stable door to right. Boarded loft door in gable end
to north. Lean-to adjoining to west. Interior of house: chamfered
and stopped beams; C17 fireplaces.
