2/141 Lydham Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C17 with C19 alterations and additions. Timber framed
but largely re-built in stone, rendered, and slate roof. L-plan with one
surviving framed bay to north. 2 storeys. End stack to south and ridge stack
off-centre to north. East front: set back to right. 3-window front; mid to
late C20 metal casements. Central 4-panelled door with 2 flush bottom panels
and 3-light rectangular overlight. Entrance to north of west wing also.
Interior: some surviving timber framing; chamfered beams in wing to west.
Curved timbers were revealed beneath some windows when the render was removed
for repairs; these could possibly be re-used crucks.
