SO 39 SW LYDHAM C.P. OWL'S LANE (north side)

2/171 Gate and Gateposts
approximately 35 metres
to east of Roveries Hall

GV II

Gate and gateposts. Possibly C18 but probably mid to late C19. Wrought
iron. Margins with S-scrolls and rosettes at corners; middle panel with
scrolled centrepiece; top rail with central swan-necked scrolls and finial.
Square section posts with barley sugar twist in top half, and finials. These
gates (q.v., also gate and gateposts approximately 75 metres to east of Roveries
Hall) are said to have come from Italy, though not originally to Roveries
Hall (q.v.).
