House, now divided into 3. Probably early C16, remodelled in the mid-
to-late C19, and North end further remodelled in the mid-to-late C20.
Timber framed, refaced or rebuilt and eaves raised, rendered, probably over
coursed limestone rubble; slate roof. Former hall-house consisting of
2 framed-bay former open hall to South, and one framed-bay lower-end to
North. 2 storeys and one storey and attic with basement. Two C20 gabled
semi-dormers to North-east with 2-light casements, integral brick end-
stack to North, semi-integral brick end-stack to South, and C20 lateral
stack to West. East front: 2 first floor 3-light metal casements to
left, 2 ground floor 3-light metal casements to left flanking 4-panelled
door, and two C20 two-light casements to right flanking C20 six-panelled
door. Entrance to No.3 at-rear. Interior: one full cruck truss survives
between first and second bays from North, further cruck trusses might
also survive; square-panelled timber framed former screen passage wall
between first and second bays from North with blocked segmental-headed
former service doorway into lower end; late C16 or Cl7 inserted floor
with chamfered beams in 2 bays to South. Although altered and despite
its unpromising exterior, enough remains of the original plan and of the
cruck roof-structure to merit the inclusion of this building on this
