SO 27 NW LLANFAIR WATERDINE C.P. -

8/199 Barn and Cow House
- approximately 35 metres
to south of Black Hall

GV II

Barn and cow house. Late C17 or early C18 with early and mid-to-late C19
alterations and additions. Weatherboarded timber frame; coursed limestone
rubble, partly rebuilt in C20 concrete block; corrugated iron roof. Long
range of farmbuildings in 2 parts; 4 bays aligned east-west. One and 2
storeys. Framing: square panels, 3 up to wall plate. North front: 3
boarded pitching doors and 2 boarded ground floor doors to right; early
C19 cow house to left with boarded door and loft door in gable-end to left.
Lower mid-to-late C19 two-bay barn to right; weatherboarded timber frame
with coursed rubble plinth and corrugated iron roof. Interior: tie-beam
roof trusses with raking queen struts; 2 pairs of purlins. Forms part of
a farmstead group (cf: Black Hall q.v.).
