Farmhouse, now divided. C14 or early C15, with late C16 or C17 alterations,
remodelled in mid-to-late C19, and further altered in mid-C20. Timber
framed, of cruck construction; walls rebuilt and eaves raised in coursed
limestone rubble, partly removed in mid-C20 and render substituted; slate
roof with catslide over outshut to rear. 2 ½ framed bays, aligned north-
east/south-west, remains of former hall house. One storey and attic.
End stack to left and brick ridge stack off-centre to right. 3-window
front; C20 two- and 3-light metal casements, 3 gabled semi-dormers;
ground floor windows alternating with 2 boarded doors. Interior: 3 full
cruck trusses; former open hall truss to north-east with moulded blades
and collar, cusped arch-braces, cusped V-struts and Alcock apex-type L2
with curved yoke; smoke blackening; probably late C16 or Cl7 inserted
floor and stack in 2 bays to north-east; large open fireplace in ground
floor room to left with roll-moulded lintel. Right-hand end derelict at
time of resurvey (November 1984). Alcock, Pp.96 and 114.
