Skyborry Farmhouse

GV II

Cow houses, stable and former cartshed, now garage. Probably C18 with mid-
to-late C19 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble ground floor and end
walls with some probably later red brick dressings; weatherboarded timber-
framed first floor; slate roofs. Long range of 2-storey buildings in 2
parts; that to right with 2 boarded loft doors and square pitching opening
off-centre to right; 2 ground floor segmental-headed boarded doors to left
with flanking narrow vents; 2-leaf boarded stable door off-centre to right with
sash window to left, and open cartshed to right, now garage; loft opening
in right-hand gable end; early C19 lean-to addition to right. Lower block
set-back to left with boarded loft door to right and 2 small windows to left,
and central ground floor boarded door flanked by pairs of narrow vents.
Interior: rebuilding has left a mixture of types of truss including a
collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-struts above and a
machine-sawn C19 king post truss. Skyborry Farmhouse is not included in
this List.
