Farmbuildings. Late C17, remodelled late C18 with later additions and
alterations. Main range: weatherboarded timber frame on high uncoursed
limestone rubble plinth; slate roof: west rang also originally timber
framed on high plinth but rebuilt in uncoursed limestone rubble; asbestos
sheet roof. L-plan with horse engine house to west range. Main range:
2 levels. Eaves hatches with C20 centre-hung windows to ground floor.
Wide cart entrance in third bay from left. West range also on 2 levels
has 3 eaves hatches and stable doors alternating with C20 windows to
ground floor. Horse engine house to rear, red brick (English garden
wall bond) with double doors on north. Interior of main range: framing
visible, rectangular panels above high cill; lofts to left and right
of cart entrance with C19 cowstalls below to left section. Collar and
tie beam roof has single purlins and curved windbraces. West range
also has fragmentary rectangular panels to original back wall; continuous
loft. Roof in 7 bays has mixed king-post and queen-post trusses. C19
granary, altered C20, attached at right-angles to south of east end
of main range is not of special architectural interest. Included for
group value.
