Dovecote. Probably C17 with later repairs. Small red bricks (English
bond); graded slate roof has open-sided lantern with pointed wooden
finial. Octagonal plan. Eaves slightly projecting with moulded corbelling;
chamfered rectangular windows on east and west with label and open,
square label stops; segmental-headed doorway on west has plank door
with iron strap hinges. Interior: well-preserved nesting holes and
ledges with carved central post, formerly with ladder for collecting
eggs from nests. Scheduled Ancient Monument, County No. 309.
