Barn and attached cottage approx. 20m north-east of The Chestnuts
[formerly listed as Cottage (former groom's cottage and stables of The Chestnuts)]

Barn, later stables, and attached cottage. Barn: late C17 with later
alterations. Timber framed with red brick infill; graded slate roof.
2 levels. Framing: vertical posts and long straight tension braces
with later horizontal timbers forming small square panels. Door to
right of centre on west with secondary door to left and eaves hatches
to left and centre. Cottage: late C18/early C19 with later alterations.
Painted uncoursed limestone rubble; machine tile roof with central
brick ridge stack. 2 storeys; west side has segmental-headed 3-light
casement to left and small casement directly below eaves to right;
inserted entrance with double doors to right and boarded door to gable
end. Included for group value.
