Farmhouse, now house. C17, eaves raised late C18 or early C19 with
later additions and alterations. Rendered timber frame and painted
roughly coursed limestone rubble; slate roof. Original house of 3
framed bays with eaves raised and single-bay stone extension added
to left late C18/early C19. 2 storeys; 3 paired late C20 casements
directly below eaves to C17 part with contemporary casements immediately
to left and to right of late C20 half-glazed door with gabled hood
to left of centre; rubblestone addition has C20 casement on first floor
and small C19 casement on ground floor with segmental-headed half-
glazed door to right. Stone ridge stack (formerly an end stack) with
C20 red brick top at junction with rubblestone addition, which has
integral end stack with red brick shaft to left; large truncated external
stack to right gable end with later integral brick shaft. C19 rubblestone
lean-to dairy to rear on left. Interior: timber frame exposed throughout
(square panels)'including to cross-walls, which retain original cills;
main ground-floor room (to right of ridge stack) has massive chamfered
spine beam with ogee stops and flat heavy joists, stone inglenook fireplace
with chamfered wooden lintel; C18 straight-flight oak staircase to
back wall with moulded handrail and plain flat balusters to first floor.
Right ground-floor room, now divided by C19 close-studded partition
wall, also has chamfered spine beam and heavy joists. Rubblestone
addition has inglenook fireplace with chamfered wooden lintel, chamfered
spine beam. Plank and muntin doors with pointed strap hinges throughout.
Queen-strut roof in 3 bays has 2 centre trusses exposed beneath raising
of eaves.
