Remains of engine house approx. 70m south-west of Tankerville Farmhouse

Remains of engine house. Mid- to late C19. Roughly coursed limestone
rubble with red brick dressings to windows; now roofless. Rectangular
plan. 2 levels over basement; round-headed arches on each floor to
south-east and one round-headed arch over flat-headed opening with
timber lintel on north-west; similar openings to long sides. Interior:
has collapsed floor joists. Deep open shaft immediately to north-
west. Associated with nearby chimney (q.v.). Tankerville Farmhouse
is not included in this list. Salop County Sites and Monuments Record:
PRN 1312.
