Entrance lodge. Circa 1881 by Thomas Harris for Sir Henry Ripley, extended
mid-C20. Planted timber frame with rendered infill; machine tile roof.
2 storeys. Left gable end is jettied to first floor and attic and has
5-light leaded wooden mullion window to first floor; casement below with
pedimented head has contemporary 3-light leaded casements diagonally set
to each side. Full-height projecting gable to front has 3-light leaded
casement to first floor, which is tile hung to front. Similar 3-light
casement to night on ground floor. Tall cruciform red brick ridge stack
with moulded capping to left of gable, heightened in C20 red brick.
C20 extension to right is not of special architectural interest.
