Gate piers, gates and railings, Circa 1881 by Thomas Harris for Sir
Henry Ripley. Painted cast-iron gates and railings; red brick walls
and outer gate piers with ashlar dressings. Gate piers: square in
section with flush angle quoins and moulded plinths and capping, surmounted
by flat-topped finials. Elaborately decorated railings on low curving
brick walls terminating in inner gate piers, comprising elaborately worked-
iron cages surmounted by miniature gilded ball finials. Similar decoration
to gates. Included for group value.
