Farmhouse. Mid-to late C17, remodelled and extended early C19 with later
additions and alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill on
rendered plinth; roughcast rubblestone additions. Slate and graded slate
roofs. C17 part, apparently of 2 framed bays but probably originally
longer, aligned north-south with brick outshut on west side. Taller early
C19 addition at right-angles on south. 2-storey C19 gabled addition with
outshut adjoining projects at right-angles to west of C17 part and has
further C19 outbuildings attached. One storey and gable-lit attic to
C17 part, 2 storeys and gable-lit attic to C19 addition. Framing to
C17 part: square panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate, with regularly coursed
limestone rubble to gable end. C19 addition forms present main front.
1:2:2 windows, second and third bays from left forming projecting gable
with window in centre to attic. Glazing bar sashes throughout, tripartite
to lower right. Entrance in angle between gable and section to right;
6-panel door with rectangular barred overlight under lean-to porch.
Integral brick end stacks with dentilled capping. Tall brick end stack,
also with dentilled capping, to C17 range at junction with C19 addition.
Interior: not inspected but noted as having panelled window shutters to
C19 addition.
