House. Early C17 with C18 additions. Timber-framed with brick and
stone additions, plain tile roofs. Roughly L-shaped plan. 2-bay C17
range aligned east-west with an C18 western extension on the same
alignment linking it with an C18 wing aligned north-south. 2-storey C17
range with five tiers of close-studded timber framing. Exposed eastern
roof truss has three collars, closely spaced studs and v-struts above the
upper collar. Ground and first-floor mullioned and transomed windows
to the east with ogee-moulded sills and cornices. The north side has
a massive sandstone stack to the left with cyma recta moulded cornice
and two tall rusticated brick shafts. Inserted ground floor cross window
to the right and casement over-with leaded lights. Slightly lower C18
extension to the right. Two storeys, the ground floor has coursed limestone
rubble walls, the first floor is brick. Irregular fenestration; casements,
those to ground floor have segmental heads. C20 glazed porch. C18
wing. Two storeys and gable-lit attic. Two gabled bays with segmental
headed casements, and single bay extension to the right with catslide
roof.

INTERIOR. Early C17 staircase with heavy turned balusters and
closed string. In the ground floor room to the east is a network of
plastered ceiling beams. First floor room to the east has C17 oak wall
panelling and fireplace, and elaborately decorated plaster upper walls
and ceiling. The main beams are decorated with trailing branches and
pomegranates. Panels in between the beams with strapwork and central
oval. a series of 5 medallions adorn the upper walls, containing res-
pectively, a stag couchant, lion passant, unicorn,goat, and possibly
a boar. In the first floor room to the east is more C17 oak panelling
and a fireplace withcast iron grate. Oak panelling also in the C18
