Cottage. Probably mid-to late C17 with front of main range refaced in early
C19; later additions and alterations. Roughcast timber frame and regularly
coursed and dressed limestone rubble; corrugated iron over thatch roof, hipped
to rear. Basic L-plan with range to rear on left at oblique angle. One
storey and attic. Mid-C20 casements to left and right of half-glazed door
under contemporary gabled trellised porch with mid-C20 casements directly
above; another contemporary casement to right in position of infilled doorway.
Integral end stack to right with red brick shaft. Rear range has wall-post
exposed to right corner and red brick ridge stack in 2 sections; semi-circular
stone bread oven projection. Interior. Inspection not possible at time
of resurvey (September 1986) but noted as having central straight flight stair-
case to main range. Left ground-floor room has large stone inglenook fireplace
with chamfered wooden lintel and bread oven, served by stack to rear range.
Mid-C20 flat-roofed addition to rear of main range is not of special architect-
ural interest.
