5/15 Former stable block
GV II
Former stable block. Mid-C18 with later alterations. Red brick with
rusticated quoins and ashlar dressings, plain tile hipped roof.
Rectangular plan. 2 levels, moulded eaves cornice carried up around
central projecting pediment; 3:3:3 bays, central section under pedi-
ment, windows all with segmental brick heads and stone cills, blocked
to first -floor and with mid-C19 casements to ground floor; central
entrance, plain stone doorcase with moulded entablature, mid-C20 double
doors with rectangular overlight, blind round-headed stable arch with
keystone and imposts to each side and mid-C19 casements inserted;
pediment has richly carved coat-of-arms, re-built clock tower above in
front of ridge with pyramidal slate roof and weathervane. Interior:
considerably altered and re-modelled during C20.
