2/82 No.19 (former Plough

Cottage, latterly public house, now disused. Early C17 with later
additions and alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill,
partly re-built in brick and local rubblestone, thatch roof. One
storey and attic, 3 framed bays; framing: partly renewed, fragmentary
square and rectangular panels, short straight tension braces and V-struts
from collar to right gable end; irregular fenestration, 3 late C19
casements to ground floor, that to left with segmental head, 2 late
C19 gabled eaves dormers to left and centre; boarded door to right
and blocked doorway to left of centre with axial red brick ridge stack
immediately to right, subsidiary stack in roof slope to right. Square
panelled timber frame lean-to against right gable end and mid-C19
single-storey addition to left. Interior: inspection not possible
at time of re-survey (1985) but likely to retain original features of
interest. The plan form is similar to that of Wayside (q.v.).
