2/83 Garmston House

Farmhouse, now house. Early to mid-C18 with later additions and
alterations. Red brick on stepped plinth, machine tile hipped roof.
2 storeys and attic, floor band; 5 bays, cross-paned sashes to first
floor in original openings, ground floor has late C19 three-light
casements with segmental heads to left and right of central entrance,
late C19 gabled brick porch over half-glazed door, cutting infilled
original window opening, 2 early C20 gabled dormers in roof slope;
integral end stack to left with one integral and one external stack
to right, all with moulded capping; right return has one blind window
on each floor with mullion and transom painted in imitation. 2 hip-
roofed projections to rear flank central gable with illegible date-
stone, Salop Fire Insurance plate over 4-panel door beneath. Lower
mid-C19 service range to left. Interior: C18 staircase to right of
front entrance rising to attic with carved splat balusters, moulded
handrail and newels; 2 chamfered spine beams with ogee stops and
heavy joists in left-hand ground-floor room and late C18 fireplace
with Adam-style wooden surround to right-hand ground-floor room.
