Granary approx. 50 metres to north-west of Woodlands Farmhouse

GV
II

Granary . Late C18 or early C19. Red brick with some sandstone dressings.
Slate roof. Two storeys. Loft treated as a 2-x3- bay temple. Stone
floor band, blind round-arched arcading to south and east with stone
impost blocks, and pedimented gable end to east with blind semi-circular
recess in tympanum. West end with altered ground-floor door, segmental-
headed boarded loft door and pigeon loft in apex of gable. Interior
not inspected. The loft forms part of a group of farm buildings to the
north-west of Woodlands Farmhouse (q.v.). The loft of the granary has been
treated architecturally on 2 sides because it can be seen as an eyecatcher
from the former main drive to the east and from the house, above a garden
wall, to the south-east.
