Gates and gate piers. Circa 1878, probably by Stevens of Birmingham.
Red brick piers with grey sandstone caps. Each with double-chamfered
plinth, fluted pilaster strips with shaped aprons in panels, frieze and
moulded cornice, and large urn finial with gadrooning and other carved
ornament. Southern pier with round-arched recess for pedestrian gate.
Pair of wrought-iron gates, one large one for vehicles and small one for
pedestrians, each with scrolled lower panel and lock bar, and scrolled
cresting. Stevens carried out alterations and additions at Berwick House
(q.v.) in 1878.
