Eyecatcher. Probably late C18 or early C19. Uncoursed red sandstone,
breccia and conglomerate rubble, with red sandstone ashlar and red brick
dressings. Red brick walls to rear. Remains of former farmbuildings
with gable end towards Berwick House (q.v.) treated as a Gothic eyecatcher.
Gable end has flanking buttresses with chamfered offsets and narrow arched
slits. Chamfered offset to stepped triple lancets with rounded brick
reveals, remains of opening in apex of gable, and arched doorway beneath,
of 3 orders with rounded brick reveals, and pair of boarded doors with
stone hinge blocks. The eyecatcher stands on a rise in the park, at a
distance from Berwick House (q.v.).
