GV II

Farmhouse. Late C16 or C17, partially remodelled and extended in the mid-
to late C19. Timber framed; refaced, partly rebuilt and extended in red
brick (painted to north); plain tile roof. Hall and cross-wing plan with
additions. 2 storeys and 2 storeys and attic. Dentil brick eaves cornice
and verges; large central ridge stack at junction of hall range and cross-
wing and external brick end stack to left. Segmental-headed C19 wooden
casements, some with Gothic-arched lights; left-hand gable has 2-light
attic window, two 2-light first-floor windows with transoms, ground-floor
segmental-headed blocked doorway to left and canted hipped bay to right
with inserted 4-panelled door. 2-bay hall range to right with 2- and 3-
light casements. Late C19 two-storey addition to left with first-floor
cross window and ground-floor 3-light window with transom; late C19 one-
storey and attic addition to right with C20 two-light casement to front.
Interior: framing visible in parts; chamfered beams; large open fireplace;
fittings include C16 or C17 plank and muntin doors, and panelled wall cup-
boards in first-floor room.
