SJ 40 SE CONDOVER C.P. DORRINGTON

House, now divided into 5 cottages. C17 with later additions and alterations.
Timber frame, partly concealed by render, with red brick infill and additions,
machine tile roofs. Long range of 4 framed bays (Nos.1 to 4) aligned north-
south with gabled range (No.6) projecting at right-angles to east; No.5
behind is late C19 (red brick) and is now part of No.6. One storey and attic;
framing: exposed to No.1 is a C20 renewal and none of the original framing
is visible externally; irregular fenestration, late C19 casements, 6 to
ground floor with gabled eaves dormers to Nos.2, 3 and 4; boarded doors to
Nos.1, 2, 3 and 4 (No.3 under gabled timber porch) and C20 half-glazed door
to No.6 (also under gabled timber porch); prominent red brick ridge stack
between Nos.2 and 3 with subsidiary stacks behind to No.1, No.6 (and former
No.5), end stack to No.4. Interior: inspection of Nos.1, 2 and 3; timber
frame concealed by wallpaper to Nos.2 and 3 and mid-C19 cast-iron range to
No.2.
