9/105 Yew Tree Farmhouse
Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed with painted brick and plaster infill, plain tile roof. 2-bay hall
with cross-wing slightly projecting to right. 2 storeys; framing: square
panels, 4 from cill to wall-plate with long straight tension braces to cross-
wing, 2 above raised cill to hall; V-struts from collars to gables and
painted sandstone and brick re-building below tie beam to gable of hall
range; irregular fenestration, two C20 casements below eaves to hall range
and one on left to ground floor; one C20 casement on each floor to cross-
wing; entrance through 4-panel door in lean-to porch in angle between hall
and cross-wing; prominent external lateral red brick stack to cross-wing
with bread oven abutting and datestone G
on shaft; subsidiary stacks to right R E
of front gable of cross-wing and 1729
behind ridge to left of hall range.
Interior: not inspected but noted as having chamfered ceiling beams and
exposed timber frame (square panels) to ground floor.
