Heighway memorial approximately 16m south of tower of Church of St George

Chest tomb. Early C19. Limestone ashlar. Rectangular. Moulded plinth and
capping with chamfered top ledger; reeded corner pilasters. Recessed semi-
circular inscription panel on east commemorates William Heighway (died 1809)
and his wife, Jane (died 1820); another on west to Jane James (died 1805)
and 2 oval inscription panels on short sides indecipherable at time of re-
survey (1984). Various further inscriptions to members of the Heighway family
on top ledger.
